Inner Landscape, An Installation, 2015 - Detail Images
Inner Landscape is a conceptual biomorphic landscape inspired by a career in medical laboratory sciences. The installation is characterized by organic shapes, abstracted cellular, molecular and biochemical forms, and naturally occurring patterns. Using media that provide hints of a biomedical space and shadows that create their own drawings, the installation evokes a sense of floating biological and sub-cellular processes, infinite morphological variation, dynamism, and the complex nature of the inner body. In contrast to the importance society gives to superficial appearances, the viewer is encouraged to consider a dream-like domain of the innermost, invisible, and essential functions of life.
